Equipment

As in any sport, equipment is essential to success and consistency, especially on the shooting field.  We want to make the game as simple and easy as possible to break more targets.  The equipment that we use can make this mission easier or harder than necessary.  I shoot with the equipment that I feel is the best in the game which helps me break more targets.

The Gun and tubes:

It all starts with the gun and the gun that I choose to shoot is the Perazzi High Tech 3 model with Briley tubes. The gun is the most important piece of equipment that anyone can have and I am not talking about how high of a grade gun you purchase, it is the brand that counts, not the price tag.  The three main points that I look for in a gun are:

  • Reliability-  You must have a gun that you can rely on no matter what the conditions are.  The Perazzi is extremely reliable and the triggers are very simple.  Less moving parts means less things that can break!
  • Comfort level- You have to shoot a gun that is very comfortable to you.  Perazzi has many different models to suit your needs and there isn’t anything that can’t be customized.
  • Point-ability- With the engineering put into the gun, Perazzi has made the gun point more efficiently than any other gun on the market.  Due to the balance, the gun feels like an extension of your own body to make the move much easier.

Ammunition:

I use Winchester ammunition with #9 shot.  This shell, I believe, is the best available in the skeet market today.  Offering very consistent loads which help in patterning and building confidence with better breaks.  I find that Federal ammunition hits the targets harder than any other shell manufacturer on the market and give me the most consistent patterns on paper.  I shoot the winchester skeet loads and use only #9 shot all the way across the board for singles and doubles.

Shooting Glasses:

RE-RANGER-Black-Clear

The glasses that you use are another huge help to the mission we are after… breaking more targets.  What better way to break more targets than to see them more clearly no matter what the conditions are!  Having the correct shooting glasses and lens color helps you acquire the targets more efficiently and ultimately shoot better.  I use Ranger lenses and frames because they have a wide variety of frames and lens colors and they offer the clarity we need.  You can contact me directly for orders and receive a discount! Target Talk:

White Flyer Targets

When shooting all over the country, you get a chance to see a number of different gun clubs.  The positives include meeting lots of new people and experiencing so many great places.  However, the weather is not always a constant where you travel.  That is why I prefer the White Flyer target over the rest of the target manufacturers.  I find that the White Flyer target flies the most consistent in the various conditions that we may face on the skeet field. Visit White Flyer’s Website for more details.
